At Club River Oaks, the Bartender is a polished hospitality professional who curates exceptional beverage experiences for our Members and their guests. This role extends beyond mixing drinks — it is about creating an atmosphere of refinement, warmth, and personalized service. The Bartender upholds the club’s standards of excellence while delivering consistent, high-quality cocktails, wine service, and beverage hospitality with discretion and professionalism.
Essential Responsibilities
- Greet Members and guests warmly, recognizing and addressing them by name whenever possible
- Prepare and serve classic and contemporary cocktails with precision, consistency, and presentation excellence
- Maintain expert knowledge of spirits, wines, craft beers, and non-alcoholic offerings
- Offer thoughtful beverage recommendations that complement dining selections
- Uphold proper wine service techniques and responsible alcohol service standards
- Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked bar area at all times
- Accurately enter orders into the POS system and manage tabs efficiently
- Monitor Member satisfaction and anticipate needs proactively
- Maintain discretion and professionalism in all Member interactions
- Aid with beverage service for club events, banquets, and special functions
- Participate in inventory management, bar prep, and closing procedures
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and sanitation standards
Qualifications
- Previous bartending experience required; fine dining, luxury hotel, or private club experience strongly preferred
- Strong knowledge of classic cocktails, wine fundamentals, and premium spirits
- Ability to maintain composure and efficiency in a high-volume, high-standard environment
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- Professional appearance consistent with Club River Oaks standards
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and club events
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 lbs
