Position Summary
The Development Coordinator provides administrative, operational, and communications support for the fundraising and community engagement activities of Old Mill Center for Children & Families (OMC). Working closely with the Development Manager, this position assists with gift processing, database management, fundraising events, social media communications, and community outreach efforts.
The Development Coordinator plays a key role in assisting with the successful implementation of OMC's annual development plan by maintaining accurate donor records, supporting fundraising campaigns and events, coordinating donor communications, and helping cultivate positive relationships with donors, volunteers, sponsors, and community partners.
This position requires excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, strong communication abilities, and a commitment to OMC's mission.
Responsible To Whom
Reports directly to the Development Manager.
Time Commitment
20-23.5 hours per week
Qualifications
· Minimum of two years of experience in administrative support, customer service, event coordination, fundraising, or related work.
· Strong organizational and project management skills with attention to detail.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
· Experience working with databases and maintaining accurate records.
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
· Experience with donor management software, CRM systems, or event management platforms preferred.
· Experience with Canva, social media platforms, email marketing software, and basic graphic design preferred.
· Ability to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a team.
· Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
· Flexibility to occasionally work evenings and weekends in support of fundraising and community events.
· Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Responsibilities
Donor Relations and Database Management
· Process and record donations accurately and in a timely manner.
· Prepare donor acknowledgements and tax receipts.
· Maintain donor records and ensure data integrity within donor management systems and accounting records.
· Generate reports and donor lists as requested by the Development Manager.
· Assist with donor stewardship activities, including thank-you communications, recognition efforts, and donor engagement opportunities.
Fundraising Campaign Support
· Assist in preparing campaign materials, mailing lists, donor communications, and fundraising appeals.
· Support annual giving initiatives and special fundraising projects.
Event Coordination
· Assist with planning and implementation of fundraising and community events.
· Support staff, committees, and volunteers involved in event execution.
· Assist with event follow-up, acknowledgements, and reporting.
Communications and Marketing Support
· Maintain and update content on social media platforms and other communication channels.
· Assist with photography, storytelling, and collection of program impact information for donor communications.
Administrative Support
· Maintain organized electronic and physical development files.
· Provide administrative support for the Development Manager as needed.
· Perform other duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements
· Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
· Ability to stand, walk, bend, twist, and move event materials as needed.
· Ability to work occasional evening and weekend hours for fundraising events and community activities.
