Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality dental care, assisting with various procedures, and ensuring a comfortable environment for our patients. This position requires a strong understanding of dental assisting practices, including pediatric dentistry, infection control, and medical documentation.
Responsibilities
- Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, employing four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency.
- Prepare and maintain the treatment area, ensuring compliance with infection control protocols.
- Manage patient records and medical documentation in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
- Perform dental radiography and assist with medical imaging as needed.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
- Support the dental receptionist in scheduling appointments and managing patient flow.
- Maintain inventory of dental supplies and equipment, ensuring all tools are sterilized and ready for use.
- Provide compassionate care to patients, especially in pediatric dentistry settings.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in dental assisting is preferred
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and infection control standards is essential.
- Proficiency in medical documentation systems related to dental practices.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with patients and team members.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
