Job Summary
The Shipping & Receiving Assistant supports the efficient movement of aircraft parts, components, and materials by assisting with shipping, receiving, inventory tracking, and documentation activities. Working closely with the Shipping & Receiving Coordinator, this position helps prepare shipments, create shipping labels, process receiving paperwork, maintain inventory records, and ensure accurate documentation in compliance with company and aviation industry requirements.
Duties
- Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders using warehouse management systems and RF scanners
- Prepare outgoing shipments by picking, packing, labeling, and ensuring proper documentation in accordance with trade compliance and international trade regulations
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, order pickers, and other warehouse equipment safely to load and unload trucks efficiently
- Maintain accurate inventory records through data entry into inventory management software and ERP systems such as AS400 or MRP platforms
- Assist with stock replenishment, stocking shelves, and organizing warehouse distribution areas to optimize space utilization
- Collaborate with logistics teams to coordinate shipping schedules, arrange transportation, and ensure timely delivery of goods
- Support order fulfillment processes by managing order picking, packing, and ensuring quality control throughout the shipping & receiving cycle
Qualifications
- Assist with receiving incoming aircraft parts, materials, and supplies.
- Prepare outgoing shipments, including packaging, labeling, and shipping documentation.
- Create and process shipping labels for domestic and international shipments.
- Maintain accurate shipping, receiving, and inventory records.
- Assist with filing, scanning, and organizing logistics-related paperwork.
- Verify shipment contents against packing slips and purchase orders.
- Support inventory counts and assist with inventory control activities.
- Help organize and maintain warehouse and storage areas.
- Coordinate with technicians and vendors regarding material movement and delivery status.
- Follow company safety, quality, and aviation industry procedures.
The Shipping & Receiving Assistant provides logistical and administrative support to ensure the accurate handling, documentation, and movement of aircraft parts and materials. This role contributes to efficient operations, inventory accuracy, regulatory compliance, and on-time support of aviation maintenance activities.
Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
