Duties
- Perform thorough cleaning of guest rooms, corridors, and public areas using appropriate cleaning equipment and chemical agents while adhering to safety data sheets (SDS) guidelines.
- Handle laundry operations efficiently by sorting, washing, drying, folding, and distributing linens and guest clothing with care and precision.
- Maintain high standards of sanitation through proper use of cleaning supplies and chemicals, ensuring all surfaces are hygienic and presentable.
- Assist with heavy lifting tasks such as moving furniture or equipment safely in compliance with manual handling procedures.
- Restock supplies in guest rooms and public areas to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Follow hotel emergency procedures diligently to ensure safety for guests and staff at all times.
- Support custodial responsibilities by performing industrial cleaning tasks when necessary, including vacuuming carpets and floor care across various surfaces.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in hotel housekeeping or janitorial roles is highly preferred; familiarity with hotel housekeeping management is a plus.
- Knowledge of floor cleaning techniques, sanitation standards, and the use of cleaning equipment such as vacuums.
- Ability to handle chemical agents safely by understanding chemical handling protocols and SDS information.
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly attitude that enhances guest satisfaction.
- Physical stamina for heavy lifting, manual handling, and prolonged periods of standing or walking.
- Basic understanding of hotel emergency procedures to respond effectively during urgent situations.
- Experience in industrial cleaning or custodial work is advantageous; hospitality experience is highly valued.
