Quality Technician
Shift: 1st Shift — Monday–Thursday, 6:00 AM–4:30 PM
Schedule: Some Fridays may be required based on production needs
Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Quality Technician to join our Quality Department. Reporting to the Quality Manager, the Quality Technician will inspect and measure components and finished products to ensure compliance with engineering requirements, maintain accurate quality records and metrics, and assist with the disposition of nonconforming product.
The ideal candidate will have 3–5 years of hands-on quality control experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment. Experience with ISO 9001 quality systems, and precision inspection equipment is highly valued. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong communication skills, attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect and measure components, finished products to verify conformance with engineering drawings, specifications, and customer requirements.
- Perform dimensional inspections using precision measurement equipment and established inspection procedures.
- Operate and utilize CMM equipment/software and optical comparators.
- Use precision hand tools and inspection equipment, including:
- Micrometers
- Calipers
- Height gages/stands
- Surface plates
- Profilometers
- Thread gages
- Pin gages
- Related inspection equipment
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, and component/assembly prints.
- Create, maintain, and organize quality records, inspection reports, data, and performance metrics.
- Identify, document, and communicate nonconforming material or product.
- Assist with the disposition of nonconforming product in accordance with established quality procedures.
- Issue and communicate Quality Alerts as required.
- Work closely with Quality, Engineering, Production, and other departments to resolve quality issues.
- Maintain accurate and timely inspection documentation.
- Support continuous improvement and quality assurance activities as assigned.
- Adapt to changing production schedules, priorities, and customer requirements while maintaining a positive, professional attitude.
- Perform other quality-related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- 3–5 years of hands-on quality control experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
- Experience working within an ISO 9001 quality environment.
- Experience using precision inspection equipment, including:
- Surface plates and height gages
- Profilometers
- Optical comparators
- Thread gages
- Pin gages
- Micrometers
- Calipers
- Proven ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints.
- Experience with CMM equipment/software is strongly preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong time-management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to effectively prioritize and multitask across multiple projects and production requirements.
- Ability to work independently while also functioning effectively as part of a team.
Work Authorization
Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Candidates may qualify through U.S. Citizenship, valid work authorization/visa, or employer-sponsored H-1B status, as applicable.
Pay: $20.00 - $26.00 per hour
