Field Project Manager & Lead Carpenter
House to Home Design & Remodel
Job Type: Full-Time
Position: Field Project Manager & Lead Carpenter
Build. Lead. Solve Problems. Take Ownership.
Are you an experienced carpenter or remodeler who's ready for more than just another job on the tools?
Do you enjoy leading a crew, solving problems, working with homeowners, coordinating trades, and watching a project come together from start to finish?
House to Home Design & Remodel is looking for a Field Project Manager & Lead Carpenter to join our team.
This is not a desk-only project management position.
You'll be on our jobsites every day—leading the project, working alongside our crews, coordinating subcontractors, communicating with clients, planning upcoming work, and jumping in with the tools when needed.
We're looking for someone who can see the big picture of the project while still caring about the details that separate good work from great work.
What You'll Do
As our Field Project Manager & Lead Carpenter, you'll help take ownership of the day-to-day success of our remodeling projects.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Plan daily tasks and establish goals for the crew.
- Create and manage jobsite to-dos.
- Maintain and adjust project schedules.
- Coordinate employees, subcontractors, inspections, dumpsters, and deliveries.
- Make sure materials are on site before they're needed.
- Receive deliveries and verify materials are correct and undamaged.
- Read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and layouts.
- Help lay out walls, tile, lighting, fixtures, cabinetry, and other project details.
- Communicate with subcontractors and help resolve field questions.
- Train and mentor crew members.
- Monitor workmanship, quality, and efficiency.
- Correct methods or workmanship when necessary.
- Maintain clean, organized, professional jobsites.
- Complete daily logs and document progress with photos.
- Communicate job progress and field conditions to management.
- Participate in pre-construction and management meetings.
- Help address warranty items and service work when needed.
And yes—you'll still get your hands dirty.
Depending on the project, you'll work alongside the team performing:
- Finish carpentry
- Framing
- Drywall and repairs
- Painting
- Tiling
- Installation
- Punch-list work
- General residential remodeling
Take Care of the Homeowner
We believe a great remodeling project is about more than the finished product.
It's also about the experience our clients have while we're working in their home.
You'll be one of the primary faces of House to Home on the jobsite and will:
- Check in regularly with clients.
- Answer day-to-day questions.
- Address concerns professionally.
- Communicate upcoming work and decisions.
- Confirm details such as layouts, locations, heights, and options.
- Make sure homeowners feel informed about their project's progress.
- Represent House to Home professionally at all times.
Lead & Develop the Crew
We're not looking for someone who simply hands out assignments.
We're looking for a leader who enjoys making the people around them better.
You'll work directly with our crew members to:
- Teach construction techniques and best practices.
- Demonstrate efficient ways to complete tasks.
- Help employees improve their craftsmanship.
- Monitor quality and workmanship.
- Encourage good work.
- Correct problems when our standards aren't being met.
- Help develop the next generation of skilled craftsmen and crew leaders.
Help Onboard New Team Members
You'll also help new field employees learn how we operate at House to Home, including:
- Buildertrend time clock and basic navigation
- Job information and schedules
- Daily logs and progress photos
- To-dos
- Construction drawings and jobsite binders
- Product specifications and selections
- Our standard construction practices
- Site protection and jobsite cleanliness

- Attendance, tardiness, and call-off procedures
We want every employee to understand what the House to Home standard looks like from the beginning.

- Is comfortable performing hands-on construction work.
- Can lead and organize a crew.

- Can respectfully hold others accountable to our standards.
- Is comfortable learning and using technology such as Buildertrend.
- Understands the importance of a clean, professional jobsite.
