Pay: Starting at $15-$16/Hour, based on experience
Schedule: 7AM-3PM, M-F
Position Summary: Responsible for packaging units of cut plate to order specification; ensures neatly stacked and damage free packaged units for customer acceptance
Qualifications: High school graduate or equivalent preferred
Primary Duties:
- Review sales order or special instructions for packaging requests
- Inspect units to ensure they are neatly stacked and damage free
- Review scroll plate for proper tab location or direction
- Operation of stretch wrap controls to ensure wraps are set to customer specification or shipping destination specification
- Ensure all stretch wrapped units have one band traveling with the runners that band the tinplate to the skid, as well as a VCI sheet of paper or plastic protecting the top of the unit and bottom of the unit between the tinplate and skid
- Ensure each unit has proper envelope and ticket correctly placed
- Cut angle board using saw with dust collector; cut paper to correct size
- Ensure units are neatly packaged and enclosed to prevent entry of outside elements/possible contaminating hazards
- Empty dust collector on saw vacuum as needed
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment
- Report any safety issues/concerns to Supervisor
- Other duties/responsibilities as assigned
Work Conditions/Tools and Equipment:
- Personal Protective Equipment (P.P.E) to be worn includes gloves, wristlets, ear plugs, safety glasses and steel toe shoes
- Use of banding equipment
- May need to lift up to 40 pounds
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Must possess excellent attention to detail and problem solving skills
- Must posses ability to understand a variety of instructions in written, oral or schedule form
- Ability to coordinate and communicate with co-workers
