As a Construction Laborer, you will be instrumental in supporting skilled tradespeople by performing physically demanding tasks, operating tools and equipment, and ensuring safety standards are upheld at all times. Responsibilities
- Assist with the setup and cleanup of construction sites, ensuring a safe and organized work environment
- Use hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment to perform tasks such as concrete mixing, cutting, pouring, finishing, and formwork construction
- Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and construction plans to accurately execute project specifications
- Install rebar, construct formwork, and perform masonry and plastering tasks as directed by supervisors
- Operate concrete mixers and concrete pumps for efficient pouring and finishing of concrete surfaces
- Follow all safety protocols related to construction workplace safety regulations, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Support heavy lifting activities and assist with the operation of heavy machinery when trained and authorized
Qualifications
- Prior experience working on construction sites or in related roles is highly preferred
- Basic mechanical knowledge and familiarity with construction estimating are advantageous
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and construction specifications accurately
- Knowledge of concrete forming, rebar installation, concrete cutting, and finishing techniques
- Experience with masonry, flooring installation, plastering, renovation work, and working with hand tools or power tools
- Strong understanding of construction safety regulations and commitment to maintaining a safe work environment
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting, stand for extended periods, and operate heavy equipment when necessary
- Valid experience in interpreting technical drawings and following detailed instructions on construction plans
