Residential Construction Project Manager
New Urban Development is hiring a hands-on Residential Construction Project Manager to oversee active house rehab and value-add construction projects across Oakland, Wayne, and Macomb counties. The number one priority of this role is traveling between job sites — in a company-provided vehicle — to ensure all rehab work is being done correctly and up to company standards. If you know construction, can hold contractors accountable, and like keeping projects moving, this is the role for you.
This is a split position — roughly 50% in the field and 50% in the office. Field time is spent traveling between active job sites, confirming work quality, meeting and coordinating contractors, and making sure every site stays clean, organized, and safe. Office time is spent ordering materials and appliances, scheduling work, updating our proprietary software, and keeping the construction pipeline organized.
What You'll Do
Priority 1 — Field Supervision, Quality Control & Hiring
- Travel between active rehab sites across Oakland, Wayne, and Macomb counties in a company-provided vehicle
- Ensure all rehab work is being completed correctly and up to company standards
- Supervise crews and confirm tasks are done on schedule
- Review workmanship and enforce quality-control standards
- Receive and compare quotes for work, then hire the right contractors for each job
- Meet contractors at job sites — or coordinate contractors to walk projects — for accurate quoting
- Inspect every job site to keep it clean, organized, and safe
- Identify problems early — poor workmanship, delays, incomplete work — and report them to the operations manager
Priority 2 — Material & Appliance Coordination
- Order and coordinate materials and appliances across all active job sites
- Confirm correct items are ordered, delivered, and on-site before crews need them
- Reduce job delays by making sure crews have what they need before work begins
- Help keep material and appliance purchases at or under budget
- Track shortages, wrong items, and delivery problems
Priority 3 — Contractor & Labor Relationships
- Build and maintain a reliable pipeline of contractors, carpenters, laborers, roofers, and tradespeople
- Communicate scope, pricing, scheduling, and job expectations
What We're Looking For

- Experience receiving quotes, comparing bids, and hiring contractors
- A valid Michigan driver's license with a clean driving record (a company vehicle is provided for job-site travel)
- Strong communicator with contractors, vendors, office staff, and management
- Organized — able to track multiple projects, tasks, and material needs at once
- Comfortable using mobile software to take photos, update tasks, and log accurate notes
- Dependable, professional, and detail-oriented
- Successful completion of a full background check and pre-employment drug screening
