Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients by washing, peeling, slicing, and chopping produce using proper knife skills and slicing techniques.
- Assist with food preparation tasks such as assembling dishes, portioning ingredients, and following menu planning guidelines.
- Maintain cleanliness of all kitchen areas by washing dishes, utensils, pots, and pans efficiently and adhering to food safety standards.
- Support the kitchen team in food handling and safety management to ensure compliance with health regulations.
- Restock supplies and organize storage areas to facilitate smooth kitchen operations during service hours.
- Follow safety standards in production processes, including proper use of equipment and safe handling of food products.
- Assist with catering events or special meal preparations as needed, supporting overall food service operations.
Qualifications
- Experience in food industry settings such as restaurants or catering environments is preferred.
- A servsafe food handler certification. (must be valid and for the state of California)
- Demonstrated knowledge of food safety practices and handling procedures.
- Knife skills and slicing techniques essential for efficient food prep.
- Familiarity with menu planning, meal preparation, and cooking methods.
- Ability to work quickly and accurately in a busy-paced environment while maintaining high safety standards.
- Prior kitchen experience or culinary background is a plus; enthusiasm for learning new skills is valued.
