Industrial Electrical & Controls Technician – Field Service
Land O’ Lakes / Tampa, FL
Full-Time | Regional Travel | Shop + Field Service
Pay: Based on Experience
Industrial Electricians & Electrical Troubleshooters Encouraged to Apply
Strategic Partner Solutions (SPS) is recruiting an Industrial Electrical & Controls Technician for a long-term opportunity with an established industrial client based in Land O’ Lakes, FL.
This is a hands-on electrical troubleshooting and field service position supporting instrumentation and data-acquisition systems installed on heavy industrial equipment.
You do not need previous instrumentation experience to qualify. If you're a strong industrial electrician, electrical technician, controls technician, or industrial maintenance technician who can use a meter, read schematics, trace circuits, and troubleshoot electrical problems, our client can train you on their specific equipment and systems.
The Land O’ Lakes shop is your home base. You'll train and work in the shop between field assignments, then travel regionally to install, test, troubleshoot, and service equipment at customer locations.
What You'll Work On
You'll work with electrical, instrumentation, and data-collection systems that may include:
- 12VDC and 24VDC electrical/control circuits
- Sensors and instrumentation
- Electronic processors and control components
- CAN-bus communication systems
- 4–20 mA instrumentation and signal loops
- Low-voltage and control wiring
- Electrical connectors and wiring harnesses
- Data-acquisition and equipment-monitoring systems
- Heavy industrial and mechanical equipment
Experience with 4–20 mA, CAN bus, instrumentation, or data acquisition is a plus — not a requirement for a strong electrical troubleshooter.
Responsibilities
- Install sensors, processors, instrumentation, and electrical components on industrial equipment
- Install, route, terminate, and repair low-voltage and control wiring
- Troubleshoot 12VDC and 24VDC electrical/control circuits
- Diagnose sensor, processor, wiring, connector, and communication problems
- Test and troubleshoot 4–20 mA instrumentation circuits
- Assist with CAN-bus communication troubleshooting
- Use multimeters and electrical test equipment to diagnose system faults
- Trace circuits and verify voltage, continuity, signals, and component operation
- Read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation
- Repair or replace defective wiring, sensors, connectors, and components
- Test and prepare equipment at the Land O’ Lakes shop before field deployment
- Travel to customer locations for installation, startup, troubleshooting, and service
- Document testing, repairs, and completed work
- Follow company and customer safety requirements
