Heart of Los Angeles (HOLA) empowers young people to overcome barriers through free, high-quality programs and personalized support in a safe, nurturing environment. Guided by our core values—Respect, Responsibility, Support, Positive Communication, and Inclusion—HOLA serves over 3,100 youth annually with academic support, music and arts education, athletics, wellness, and family services including case management, counseling, and therapy. The Community Outreach & Engagement VISTA plays a key role in boosting program visibility, strengthening community partnerships, and improving internal systems for outreach, enrollment, and family engagement. Member Duties : The VISTA will be part of the 26-27 Coach Across America national VISTA cohort of 64 members. This VISTA role at Heart of Los Angeles focuses on building organizational capacity to better serve youth and families. The member will enhance program visibility by improving outreach materials, updating bilingual resources, and creating a monthly family newsletter informed by engagement data. They will expand storytelling through impact stories and testimonials. The role also strengthens community partnerships by maintaining a database, deepening existing relationships, and developing partner toolkits to support referrals and collaboration. Overall, the position emphasizes leadership development, communication strategy, and sustainable systems that increase community engagement, program enrollment, and long-term impact.
