Position Overview
We are seeking a results-driven Automation Sales Manager to drive new business and revenue growth by selling turnkey automated assembly line solutions to manufacturing customers.
This is a highly visible, customer-facing role focused on developing new accounts, identifying opportunities, and delivering technical, value-based solutions. The ideal candidate is a strong “hunter” with experience selling automation systems or capital equipment into industrial environments.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Sales
- Identify, develop, and close new business opportunities within manufacturing and industrial markets
- Sell turnkey automation solutions, including full assembly line systems
- Build and maintain relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders
- Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting through closing
Solution-Based Selling
- Engage with customers to understand production needs and automation challenges
- Partner with engineering teams to develop customized technical solutions
- Present proposals, pricing, and value-driven recommendations
Pipeline & Territory Management
- Maintain a strong and active sales pipeline
- Track opportunities, forecasts, and performance metrics
- Manage territory strategy to maximize revenue growth
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with engineering, operations, and internal teams to support customer solutions
- Coordinate project handoffs and ensure alignment throughout the sales process
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in B2B sales within manufacturing, automation, or industrial environments
- Proven experience selling capital equipment, automation systems, or technical solutions
- Strong business development (“hunter”) mentality with a track record of closing new business
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
- Willingness to travel up to 50%
- Experience selling automated assembly lines or turnkey systems
- Background in electromechanical, industrial automation, or electronic components
- Familiarity with distributor or channel-driven sales models
- Experience working with engineering teams on technical solutions
