Job Summary:
The Registered Nurse (RN) in an assisted living setting provides compassionate, person-centered care to residents, ensuring their health, safety, and well-being. This role involves assessing residents' health needs, coordinating care, administering medications, and supporting daily living activities in collaboration with other healthcare staff and caregivers. The RN fosters a positive living environment, and ensures compliance with healthcare regulations and facility policies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Resident Health Assessment and Care Planning
- Conduct initial and ongoing assessments of residents’ physical, emotional, and cognitive needs.
- Develop and regularly update individualized care plans based on resident assessments.
- Monitor changes in residents’ conditions and adjust care plans as necessary.
- Medication Administration and Monitoring
- Safely administer medications and treatments according to physician orders.
- Monitor residents for adverse effects, efficacy, and changes in condition.
- Maintain accurate records of all medications and treatments given.
- Direct Resident Care
- Provide health-related services, including wound care, catheter management, and other treatments.
- Collaborate with Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) and other staff to ensure a high standard of care..
- Coordination with Healthcare Providers
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and other specialists to coordinate comprehensive care.
- Facilitate referrals and coordinate with external healthcare providers as necessary.
- Documentation and Compliance
- Maintain thorough and accurate documentation of resident care, assessments, and changes.
- Ensure compliance with facility policies, state and federal regulations, and healthcare standards.
- Participate in audits, inspections, and quality improvement initiatives as required.
- ON CALL 24/7 for emergencies and inspection.
Qualifications:
- Licensure: Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the applicable state.
- Experience: Prior experience in assisted living, long-term care, or geriatrics preferred.
- Skills: Strong clinical assessment, communication, and interpersonal skills; ability to work as part of a collaborative team.
- Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) and other certifications preferred.
Work Environment:
- In an assisted living facility.
- Shifts may include once a week in person, and on-call as needed for inspections/surveys and emergencies.
