Bolt & Wire Electric is looking for an experienced Lead Electrician who can take ownership of a job, lead a crew, and make smart, educated decisions in the field.
We are looking for more than someone who simply knows electrical work. We need a team leader who can be given a job, understand what needs to happen, organize the crew, and keep the project moving without needing constant direction from ownership.
Attitude and mindset are extremely important to us. We want someone who approaches problems by looking for a way to get the job done—not someone who immediately looks for excuses or reasons something can’t be done. Problems come up on every jobsite. We want a lead who can assess the situation, think through the options, and work toward a safe, professional solution.
At the same time, we expect our leads to know when something genuinely needs to be brought to the attention of the office or ownership.
We are a growing, hands-on company that values integrity, quality workmanship, accountability, a strong work ethic, and teamwork.
Responsibilities
- Lead residential electrical projects from rough-in through trim-out and completion
- Direct and manage helpers and apprentices on the jobsite
- Plan daily work and keep the crew productive and organized
- Make educated field decisions without requiring constant supervision
- Read plans, understand project scope, and determine the best way to complete the work
- Troubleshoot and find solutions to problems that arise in the field
- Ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and according to electrical code
- Communicate important job progress, changes, or concerns with the office and ownership
- Maintain a clean, professional, and organized jobsite
- Take responsibility for the quality of work completed by the crew
What We’re Looking For
- Strong residential electrical experience
- Experience running jobs and leading a crew
- Strong understanding of electrical systems, installations, troubleshooting, and code
- Ability to make smart, educated decisions independently
- A positive, solution-oriented attitude
- Someone who looks for ways to get the job done instead of looking for excuses not to
- Comfortable taking ownership of a project and seeing it through
- Able to give clear direction to helpers and keep a crew moving
- Dependable, trustworthy, and accountable
- Good communication and problem-solving skills
- Team-oriented and open to coaching and improving
- Must have reliable transportation and arrive at each jobsite with your own basic electrical tools
This Position Is Great For Someone Who
- Takes pride in being the person others can depend on
- Enjoys leading and teaching other electricians and helpers
- Doesn’t need to be told every small step of what to do
- Can look at a problem, think it through, and come up with a solution
- Takes ownership instead of making excuses or passing responsibility to someone else
- Wants responsibility and the opportunity to grow within a growing electrical company
- Wants to be part of building a strong, professional crew long term
Compensation
- Competitive pay based on experience and leadership ability
- Consistent work
- Opportunities for increased responsibility, pay, and advancement as the company grows
