Position Title: Pediatric Dental Assistant
Location: Oakland Park, FL
Compensation: $18-24/hr (based on experience)
Position Mission
- As a Dental Assistant, you will be a key member of the team charged with the care and treatment of our patients. You will be communicating with patients, assisting the patient's comfort, educating patients, keeping on schedule, managing supplies, and compliance with all regulatory guidance. You’ll be an integral part of our team and will help be a part of providing excellent dental care to our valued patients.
KPIs / Performance Metrics
- Assists in treating pediatric dentistry
- Previous pediatric dentistry assisting experience is a plus
- Maintain clean, organized work areas in the treatment areas, sterilization, and the lab
- Attends team/company meetings and contributes to mandatory/required training
Required Qualifications
- Completion of a dental assistant school or training program
- 1+ years experience as a dental assistant
- CPR certification
- Radiograph/x-ray certification
- Valid drivers license and reliable transportation
- Ability to work well with others in fast-paced environment
- Organized and detail-oriented
- Enjoys multi-tasking
- Motivated, friendly, and energetic
Other Desirable Qualifications
- Experience with practice management software, preferably Dentrix
- Bilingual would be great!– English/Spanish/Creole
Job Responsibilities
- Promotes the company's growth and success by contributing to the positive culture in accordance with the company's core values, mission, and vision.
- Assures each operatory is cleaned and sanitized, stocked with necessary instruments and supplies, and is ready for patients before the patient is greeted and escorted to the operatory.
- Maintains focus on the patient experience, particularly with new patients, ensuring they have a great patient experience.
- Communicates with patients and helps make sure they are comfortable and feel like they're welcomed and appreciated.
- Review patient history and document in chart.
- Take radiographs (x-rays) in accordance with established guidelines.
- Prepare patients for examination and treatment.
- Assists clinicians in providing treatment.
- Prepare for and take alginate impressions as necessary.
- Assures trays are correctly set up for the scheduled procedure.
- Assist other dental assistants, hygienists, and office staff as needed to assure smooth patient flow.
- Assists in cleanliness, maintenance, and upkeep of instruments, equipment, and facilities.
- Assist with dental/medical emergencies as necessary.
- Sterilizes instruments and disinfects operatories between patients.
- Crosstrains to assist with other job roles as needed.
- Demonstrates excellent interpersonal, communications, and customer service skills.
- Always meets the standards of professional and ethical conduct.
- Schedules patients for appointments.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Type: Part-Time (2-3 days per week)
Pay: $18.00 - $24.00 per hour
Schedule:
- Mondays/Wednesdays - 8 hour shift
- Fridays (Alternating) - 5.5 hour shift
Experience:
- Dental Assisting: 1 year (Preferred)
