We are seeking an experienced Senior Machinist to join our manufacturing team. This role is ideal for a skilled machinist who enjoys solving complex machining challenges, working with precision equipment, and producing high-quality components with minimal supervision.
As a Senior Machinist, you will play a key role in supporting the production of custom machinery and tooling used in advanced manufacturing applications. You will work from detailed drawings, specifications, and engineering requirements to machine complex components, prototype equipment, and specialized tooling.
What You’ll Do
- Set up and operate CNC mills, lathes, boring mills, and other machining equipment to produce precision components.
- Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T requirements to determine machining processes and specifications.
- Machine complex parts, prototype components, tooling, fixtures, and special equipment with minimal supervision.
- Manufacture and modify three-dimensional holding and punch tooling, mold components, and specialty tooling used in blow molding applications.
- Program, configure, and adjust CNC equipment while verifying machine settings and tooling requirements.
- Perform quality inspections using precision measuring equipment to ensure parts meet specifications and quality standards.
- Troubleshoot machining processes and recommend improvements to achieve production, quality, and efficiency goals.
- Collaborate with engineering, production, and supervision teams to resolve manufacturing challenges.
- Perform preventative maintenance, machine upkeep, and housekeeping to maintain a safe and efficient work environment.
- Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts and overhead cranes as needed.
- Complete required documentation, including time reporting and production records.
- Follow all OSHA, MIOSHA, and company safety standards.
What We’re Looking For
- Journeyman Machinist, Tool & Die Maker certification, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 8+ years of CNC machining experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong experience setting up and operating CNC equipment, including boring mills.
- Ability to produce precision-machined parts and prototype equipment with limited supervision.
- Experience with tooling, mold modification, repair, or special-purpose machinery is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of GD&T, blueprint reading, and precision measurement techniques.
- Ability to work comfortably with both metric and inch measurement systems.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a team.
- Knowledge of OSHA and MIOSHA safety requirements.
Why Join Us?
- Work on unique, complex machining projects — not repetitive production work.
- Be part of a skilled manufacturing team where your experience and craftsmanship matter.
- Opportunity to apply your expertise to custom-built machinery and specialized tooling.
- A company culture that values teamwork, safety, and continuous improvement.
If you are a highly skilled machinist who takes pride in precision work and enjoys solving challenging manufacturing problems, we would like to hear from you.
