Position Summary
The Lead CNA is a highly dependable and flexible caregiver who plays a critical role in ensuring continuity of care across our service area. This position is designed for experienced professionals who thrive in a fast-paced environment and are willing to travel wherever they are needed throughout Rhode Island.
Lead CNAs are expected to be available to work up to 65 hours per week, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and short-notice assignments. In return, Home Instead guarantees 40 hours of paid work each week, provided the Lead CNA remains available for scheduled assignments and maintains satisfactory attendance and performance.
Lead CNAs are primarily responsible for:

Starting care for new clients.

Covering caregiver vacations, call-outs, and other staffing needs.

Ensuring seamless continuity of care during client transitions and emergency staffing situations.

Maintaining a small, consistent client caseload when not assigned to coverage responsibilities.
Minimum Qualifications
-
Active Rhode Island CNA license
-
Minimum of two (2) years of CNA experience
-
Current CPR certification
-
Current immunization records (MMR, Varicella, Influenza, COVID-19, Tdap, PPD, Hepatitis B, and Physical)
-
Valid driver's license
-
Reliable, insured, and registered vehicle
-
Willingness to travel throughout Rhode Island

Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 25 pounds
-
Strong verbal and written English communication skills
-
Authorization to work in the United States
-
Ability to successfully pass a drug screen, criminal background check, and BCI screening

Responsibilities
-
Provide hands-on personal care and assistance with activities of daily living
-
Assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, and hygiene
-
Monitor and record vital signs
-
Provide medication reminders
-
Promote client safety and fall prevention
-
Offer companionship and emotional support
-
Assist with light housekeeping and meal preparation
-
Transport clients to appointments and errands
-
Observe, document, and report changes in clients' conditions
Scheduling
-
Full-time position
-
Typical shifts range from 4 to 12 hours

Start times as early as 7:00 AM and ending as late as 11:00 PM

Occasional overnight shifts may be required

Weekend availability is required
-
Must be available to accept short-notice assignments throughout Rhode Island
