Job Overview
We are seeking a professional, friendly, and detail-oriented Dental Receptionist to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for patients, managing appointment scheduling, patient check-in and check-out, insurance verification, and administrative support. This role requires excellent communication skills, strong organizational abilities, and a commitment to providing outstanding customer service in a fast-paced dental environment.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and professionally, creating a welcoming and positive experience.
- Schedule, confirm, and reschedule patient appointments efficiently.
- Verify dental insurance eligibility and benefits accurately.
- Present treatment plans, discuss financial arrangements, and answer patient questions regarding insurance coverage.
- Collect payments, process billing transactions, and manage accounts receivable when necessary.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations and office policies.
- Manage multi-line phone systems, answer inquiries professionally, and direct calls appropriately.
- Coordinate patient intake, registration, and check-out procedures.
- Send appointment reminders and follow up with patients regarding scheduled treatment.
- Collaborate with dentists, hygienists, and clinical staff to ensure smooth daily operations.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information and comply with HIPAA regulations.
- Assist with general office administration and front desk duties as needed.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a dental office is preferred.
- Knowledge of dental terminology, ADA codes, treatment planning, and insurance billing procedures is preferred.
- Experience with dental practice management software is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) is a plus.
- Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and healthcare documentation standards.
- Bilingual in English and Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) or Spanish is highly preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
