Job Summary
We are seeking an Immediate Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in clinical dental procedures, patient care, and dental office operations. This role requires a proactive individual capable of providing exceptional chairside assistance, managing patient interactions, and ensuring the smooth operation of daily clinical activities. The Dental Assistant will play a vital role in supporting dentists during procedures, maintaining infection control standards, and enhancing patient comfort and satisfaction.
Duties
- Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, including restorative, endodontic, pediatric, and oral surgery treatments.
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental equipment, and ensuring all necessary supplies are available.
- Take and develop dental X-rays while adhering to radiation safety protocols and maintaining accurate medical documentation.
- Manage patient records using electronic medical records (EMR) systems such as Dentrix, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Perform dental instrument processing and sterilization procedures in accordance with infection prevention management policies.
- Monitor vital signs and medical imaging when necessary to support comprehensive patient care.
- Provide patient management support by explaining procedures, answering questions, and ensuring comfort throughout visits.
- Maintain a clean, organized clinical environment following aseptic techniques and infection control standards to prevent cross-contamination.
- Stay updated on current dental terminology, equipment use, including 3D Itero, CBCT, Cerec, etc.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Dental Assistant with knowledge of dental assisting procedures and clinical confidentiality policies.
- Familiarity with EMR systems such as Dentrix for accurate dental & medical documentation and records management.
- Certification in Dental Radiography (X-ray) and Coronal Polishing are required; additional certifications in oral surgery or pediatric dentistry are advantageous.
- Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical terminology relevant to dentistry.
- Experience with dental sterilization procedures, infection prevention management, and aseptic technique is essential.
- Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of patient care.
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients of all ages—including pediatrics—and team members.
- Demonstrated ability to adhere to healthcare infection prevention and control protocols consistently.
