About the Role
SafeTech Systems Medical Staffing is seeking experienced Registered Nurses (RNs) available for urgent, last-minute coverage for night and weekend shifts across hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, long-term care, rehab centers, and home-health settings.
This role is ideal for highly adaptable, clinically strong nurses who thrive in fast-paced environments and can step in with minimal orientation while maintaining exceptional patient care and compliance.

Key Responsibilities
- Deliver safe, high-quality nursing care aligned with facility protocols
- Perform patient assessments and ongoing clinical monitoring
- Administer medications and treatments per physician orders
- Respond rapidly to changes in patient condition and emergencies
- Accurately document care in EHR systems
- Communicate effectively with physicians, CNAs, families, and care teams
- Maintain infection control, safety, and regulatory compliance
- Adapt quickly to new units, workflows, and patient populations
Clinical & Technical Skills
- Comprehensive patient assessment (head-to-toe)
- Medication administration (oral, IV, IM, subcutaneous)
- IV therapy & venipuncture
- Wound care & dressing changes
- Pain management
- Catheter care (Foley, suprapubic)
- Tracheostomy care & suctioning
- Ventilator awareness (where applicable)
- Enteral feeding (PEG, NG tubes)
- Blood glucose monitoring & insulin administration
- Post-operative care
- Infection prevention & control
- Emergency response & rapid intervention
Critical Care & Safety Skills
- BLS (required), ACLS (preferred)
- Recognition of patient deterioration
- Fall prevention protocols
- Code response participation
- Sepsis recognition
- Safe patient handling & mobility
Documentation & Compliance
- Electronic Health Records (Epic, PointClickCare, Cerner, etc.)
- Accurate and timely charting
- HIPAA compliance
- State and federal regulatory adherence
- Incident reporting
- Care plan implementation
