We are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented, and experienced Permanent Sr. Associate to join our dynamic and fast-paced legal team. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in Insurance Defense. This position offers a unique opportunity to work on high-profile cases, providing a platform to showcase your exceptional legal acumen and strategic thinking. The successful candidate will be a part of a collaborative team, working closely with partners, associates, and clients to deliver top-notch legal services.
Responsibilities:
1. Handle a diverse portfolio of insurance defense cases, independently managing all aspects of litigation from case inception through resolution.
2. Analyze complex legal and factual issues, conduct extensive, well-reasoned legal research, and independently develop and present defense strategies.
3. Draft and argue a wide range of pleadings, motions, and briefs.
4. Conduct and defend depositions, negotiate settlements, and represent clients in court proceedings.
5. Provide legal advice and guidance to clients regarding potential exposure, risk management, and legal rights.
6. Collaborate with team members to develop case theories, devise litigation strategies, and prepare for trial.
7. Foster and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring their needs are met and exceeded.
8. Stay updated on industry trends, changes in laws, and new developments in the insurance defense sector.
Qualifications:
1. Juris Doctorate (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
2. Admitted to practice law and in good standing with the State Bar.
3. A minimum of 10+ years of experience in Insurance Defense with a strong understanding of insurance law, coverage issues, and litigation procedures.
4. Proven track record of managing a high caseload, prioritizing tasks, and meeting deadlines.
5. Exceptional negotiation skills with a history of successful settlements and verdicts.
6. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to think strategically and make sound legal judgments.
7. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively present complex legal concepts to clients and colleagues.
8. Self-motivated and able to work independently, while also being a collaborative team player.
9. High degree of professional ethics and integrity.
10. Proficiency in legal research tools and software.
