We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Quality Assurance Supervisor to lead our quality management efforts. In this pivotal role, you will oversee all aspects of quality assurance, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements. Your leadership will drive continuous improvement initiatives, uphold rigorous quality control processes, and foster a culture of excellence across our manufacturing operations. Responsibilities
POSITION SUMMARY
The Quality Assurance Supervisor is responsible for supervising day-to-day quality assurance activities to ensure compliance with company food safety programs, regulatory requirements, and customer specifications. This role provides on-site leadership, oversight, and verification of QA programs, supports plant operations in real time, and ensures timely review, communication, and follow-up of quality data.
The QA Supervisor serves as a working supervisor, balancing hands-on QA responsibilities with oversight of programs, documentation, and cross-functional coordination.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Quality & Food Safety Oversight
- Supervise daily QA activities across pre-process, in-process, and finished product stages.
- Ensure accurate and timely testing, documentation, review, and reporting of quality and food safety data.
- Review and approve Certificates of Analysis (COAs) for outbound shipments.
- Communicating critical quality or food safety concerns immediately to plant leadership and relevant teams.
- Support compliance with SQF, HACCP, GMPs, allergen controls, and company food safety programs.
Program Ownership & Verification
- Own the review, verification, communication, and escalation of key QA programs, including:
- Pest control reports and follow-up
- Internal monthly GMP and food safety audit
- Environmental monitoring
- Microbiological sampling
- Magnet and Metal detector test and calibration
- Gluten, organic and Kosher programs
- Coordinate with third-party service providers and ensure issues are documented, corrected, and closed.
- Escalate questionable or inaccurate data promptly and ensure resolution without delay.
- Conduct daily and monthly QA management meetings to review operational performance, quality metrics, and team priorities
Leadership & On-Site Coverage
- Provide consistent on-site QA supervision during core operational hours.
- Support production teams with real-time QA guidance and issue resolution.
- Ensure QA coverage supports plant operations, audits, and customer requirements.
- Serve as a point of contact for quality-related questions during assigned shifts.
Audits, Documentation & Continuous Improvement
- Conduct and/or support internal audits and third-party audits.
- Internal Audit report needs to be documented and communicated with the team in a timely manner.
- Review logs, records, and schedules to verify calibrations, inspections, and preventive maintenance are completed as required.
- Assist with CAPAs, root cause investigations, and corrective actions.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to quality and food safety.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Operations, Sales, Maintenance, and Sanitation.
- Support customer inquiries, complaints, and investigations.
- Review supplier documentation to ensure regulatory and specification compliance.
Administrative Responsibilities
- Ensure daily, weekly, and monthly QA documentation is completed accurately and on time.
- Order and maintain QC supplies and lab materials .
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Annual Quality Program Oversight
· Conduct and participate in annual QA program reviews, including:
o HACCP plan review and updates
o Mock recalls and traceability exercises
o Glass and brittle registry inspections
· Ensure all findings from annual reviews are documented, communicated, and addressed in a timely manner.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
- May provide functional supervision or direction to QA staff or technicians.
- Supports training, coaching, and development of QA team members.
- Ensures adherence to QA procedures and professional standards.
WORK SCHEDULE & AVAILABILITY
- This position is salaried and requires consistent on-site presence to support operations.
- Occasional schedule flexibility may be permitted with prior approval; however, regular remote work is not a standard function of this role.
- Work hours may extend as needed to support production, audits, investigations, or urgent quality issues.
Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
