Job Overview
Join our dedicated clinical rehabilitation team as a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA), where you will play an essential role in helping patients recover from injury, surgery, illness, and physical impairments. Working under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist, you will provide skilled therapeutic interventions designed to improve mobility, restore function, reduce pain, and maximize each patient's independence. Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist.
- Implement individualized treatment plans developed by the Physical Therapist.
- Administer therapeutic exercises, gait training, balance and coordination activities, strengthening programs, and functional mobility training.
- Assist patients with transfers, ambulation, stair training, and the safe use of assistive devices.
- Apply physical therapy modalities and therapeutic techniques as directed by the supervising therapist.
- Monitor patient response to treatment and report changes in condition, progress, or concerns to the Physical Therapist.
- Accurately document treatments, patient progress, and outcomes in the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Educate patients and caregivers on home exercise programs, injury prevention, body mechanics, and safe mobility techniques.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized treatment environment while following infection prevention and safety protocols.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, speech therapists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated patient care.
- Participate in interdisciplinary meetings, quality improvement initiatives, and continuing education programs.
- Maintain compliance with all state regulations, HIPAA requirements, agency policies, and professional standards.
Skills & Qualifications
- Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
- Current state Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) license in good standing.
- Current CPR/BLS certification.
- Strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, kinesiology, biomechanics, and rehabilitation principles.
- Knowledge of orthopedic, neurological, musculoskeletal, post-operative, and geriatric rehabilitation.
- Experience with therapeutic exercise, gait training, balance training, transfer techniques, and functional mobility.
- Familiarity with physical therapy equipment and rehabilitation technology.
- Proficiency in medical terminology and electronic medical records (EMR).
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and patient education skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple patients efficiently.
- Compassionate, patient-focused approach with excellent critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.

Pay: $30.00 - $45.00 per hour
