Overview
Farm help wanted for a swine and row-crop operation in SE Shelby county.
Duties
- Operate and maintain heavy farm machinery including tractors, combines, and other equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Perform routine inspections, troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance on farm equipment.
- Supervise or assist with other farm workers in tasks such as heavy lifting, equipment operation, or animal care.
- Conduct repairs or modifications on machinery and infrastructure using welding skills or other maintenance techniques.
- Maintain detailed records of equipment maintenance.
- Working hours are extended seasonally during planting, manure application, and harvest.
Experience
- Need an understanding of basic mechanical functions and to safely operate and maintain a variety of equipment.
- Chemical application experience a plus but not required.
- Truck maintenance experience a plus but not required.
- Most learning can be done on the job.
Pay: $18.00 - $30.00 per hour
