Shaka Nui (formerly Shaka Apparel) is a family owned and operated clothing company, operating out of a kiosk at Whaler’s Village shopping center.
We are looking for motivated individuals to become a part of our team and help continue our mission of spreading aloha through our clothing brand.
We are offering a competitive $20/hr + commission salary. Team members must be willing to work 12-18 hours per week (part-time, 2-3 6 hour shifts a week) . Team members must be willing to commute to Lahaina.
Duties
- Provide exceptional customer service by assisting customers with their inquiries, needs, and purchases.
- Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system efficiently for transactions, including cash handling and cashiering duties.
- Conduct product demonstrations to showcase features and benefits, encouraging upselling opportunities.
- Maintain a well-organized sales floor through effective merchandising and stocking of products.
- Supervise junior staff members as needed, ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures.
- Utilize strong phone etiquette when handling customer calls or inquiries.
- Engage with customers in a friendly manner to build rapport and enhance the shopping experience.
- Apply basic math skills for accurate transactions and retail math for inventory management.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in retail sales or grocery store environments is preferred.
- Bilingual candidates are highly desirable to assist a diverse customer base.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with customers and team members.
- Experience in supervising staff is a plus, demonstrating leadership capabilities.
- Knowledge of merchandising techniques and inventory management practices is beneficial.
- Ability to perform basic math calculations accurately for sales transactions.
