The Human Resources Manager is responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources department. The HR Manager oversees, as well as assists with recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, compliance, benefits administration, performance management, and maintaining accurate employee records.
Essential ResponsibilitiesRecruitment & Hiring
- Coordinate job postings across various hiring platforms.
- Screen resumes and schedule interviews.
- Communicate with candidates throughout the hiring process.
- Coordinate reference and background checks.
- Prepare offer letters and new hire paperwork.
- Assist managers with recruiting efforts and staffing needs.
Onboarding & Offboarding
- Coordinate new hire orientation and onboarding.
- Ensure all employment documents are completed accurately.
- Set up employee files and maintain HRIS records.
- Coordinate offboarding, exit interviews, and termination paperwork.
- Ensure company property is returned upon separation.
Employee Relations
- Serve as a point of contact for employee questions regarding HR policies and procedures.
- Maintain confidentiality while addressing employee concerns.
- Assist with conflict resolution and employee engagement initiatives.
- Support managers with employee coaching and documentation.
Compliance & Recordkeeping
- Maintain confidential personnel files.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.
- Assist with maintaining OSHA, HIPAA (if applicable), and labor law compliance.
- Track required certifications, licenses, and training.
Benefits & Payroll Support
- Assist employees with benefit enrollment and changes.
- Coordinate open enrollment activities.
- Work closely with payroll to ensure employee information is accurate.
- Monitor PTO balances and leave requests.
- Assist with FMLA, ADA, and other leave administration as needed.
Performance Management
- Coordinate annual and periodic employee evaluations.
- Track performance review completion.
- Assist with employee development initiatives.
- Support disciplinary documentation when needed.
HR Administration
- Maintain HR databases and employee records.
- Prepare reports related to staffing, turnover, attendance, and hiring metrics.
- Assist in developing and updating HR policies and procedures.
- Coordinate employee recognition and engagement programs.
- Support HR projects and special initiatives.
Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- 2+ years of Human Resources or administrative experience preferred.
- Knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
