Duties
- Assist in the installation of various types of fences, including wood, vinyl, chain-link, and ornamental styles.
- Read and interpret construction plans and technical drawings to ensure accurate fence placement and design.
- Use hand tools such as hammers, screwdrivers, levels, and post drivers to assemble fence components efficiently.
- Operate power tools safely for cutting, drilling, and assembling fencing materials.
- Handle construction materials with care, including setting posts, attaching panels, and installing hardware.
- Follow safety protocols rigorously during all phases of fence construction and site work to prevent accidents.
- Support heavy lifting tasks by coordinating with team members to move materials safely around the job site.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment while adhering to project timelines and quality standards.
Skills
- Strong carpentry skills with experience in frame carpentry and building material installation.
- Ability to read blueprints and interpret technical drawings accurately.
- Proficiency with hand tools and power tools used in fencing and general construction work.
- Knowledge of fence installation techniques across different styles and materials.
- Construction experience including concrete forming, masonry, landscape maintenance, or hardscape work is a plus.
- Excellent outdoor work experience with the physical stamina for heavy lifting and prolonged standing.
- Commitment to safety protocol adherence and understanding of power tool safety practices.
- Ability to interpret construction plans while maintaining attention to detail in all tasks.
- Customer service skills are desirable for interacting professionally with clients on-site when needed.
