American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular Progressive Care Unit (CVPCU) position requiring a minimum of 2 years of cardiac open heart recovery experience and at least 2 prior travel assignments.

32-bed surgical step-down unit specializing in post-op cardiac, vascular, and thoracic patient care
-
12 IMC beds with continuous cardiac monitoring, plus telemetry and non-monitored floor-level beds
-
Patient population includes post-op CABG, valve repairs, valve replacements, heart and lung transplant recipients, and patients with Mechanical Circulatory Support devices such as LVADs
-
Mixed level of care assignments with typical nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:3 days and 1:4 nights

Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM (12-hour shifts)

EMR: Epic (required)

Active MD or Compact RN license currently in hand

BLS certification required; ACLS preferred

Minimum 2 years of cardiac open heart recovery experience required

Strong Surgical IMC experience required

ICU experience required for management of high-acuity IMC patients

At least 2 prior travel assignments required

Experience at a facility with 500+ beds required

SSN and DOB required for consideration

1 professional reference required for consideration

Fast-paced multidisciplinary unit caring for patients recovering from cardiac and vascular surgeries
-
Clinicians manage high-acuity patients including those with Mechanical Circulatory Support devices (e.g., LVADs) and post-transplant recovery
-
Orientation sessions are held on the 2nd and 4th Monday of the month
-
Critical Care Certification (e.g., CCRN) is preferred

Local candidates are accepted at the same rate as travelers
