About the Role
Our client, a leading national retail and supply chain organization, is seeking a Project Coordinator to support a critical food safety and regulatory compliance initiative. This role will focus on vendor onboarding and documentation review activities related to the FDA Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) Section 204 Food Traceability Rule. The Project Coordinator will work closely with internal stakeholders and external food vendors to help ensure compliance requirements are met, project milestones are achieved, and accurate documentation is maintained throughout the onboarding process.

Job Description
The Project Coordinator will support a cross-functional initiative designed to ensure compliance with FSMA 204 food traceability regulations. This position will coordinate vendor onboarding efforts, monitor project progress, review compliance documentation, and communicate with vendors regarding regulatory requirements and documentation updates.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate vendor onboarding activities associated with FSMA 204 Food Traceability Rule requirements.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure project deadlines, milestones, and deliverables are completed on schedule.
- Collect, review, and validate vendor documentation for compliance with food traceability regulations.
- Communicate documentation findings and provide vendors with clear guidance regarding required updates or deficiencies.
- Track project activities, timelines, and progress using Microsoft Office applications, SharePoint, and Smartsheet.
- Identify project risks, issues, or roadblocks and escalate concerns with recommended solutions when appropriate.
- Maintain accurate project records, status reports, documentation, and communication plans.
- Support multiple concurrent workstreams while ensuring exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Partner with stakeholders to promote compliance and consistency throughout the vendor onboarding process.
- Assist with ongoing process improvements and documentation management efforts.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Knowledge of FDA Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) Section 204 regulations is Required
- Experience coordinating projects, onboarding activities, or compliance-related initiatives.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Experience utilizing SharePoint and Smartsheet for project tracking and document management.
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to review, analyze, and validate documentation for accuracy and compliance.
- Strong problem-solving and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with EDI 856 data transmissions.
- Knowledge of GS1-128 barcode standards.
- Experience reviewing vendor documentation for compliance with FSMA 204 requirements.
- Experience working within food safety, supply chain, distribution, logistics, retail, or regulatory compliance environments.
- Previous experience supporting cross-functional projects involving vendor management or regulatory standards.
