Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dynamic General Music Teacher with a Master’s degree in Music Education or a related field to inspire and nurture students’ musical talents. Duties
- Design and implement comprehensive music curricula that cater to various learning styles and developmental stages, including specialized programs for students with disabilities or special needs
- Develop lesson plans aligned with educational standards, incorporating innovative learning technology and LMS (Learning Management System) tools to enhance student engagement
- Conduct classroom teaching across multiple grade levels, integrating literacy, math, and other core subjects into musical activities when appropriate
- Manage classroom behavior effectively through positive behavior management strategies, creating an inclusive environment that respects cultural diversity
- Assess student performance regularly through formative and summative evaluations, analyzing performance data to tailor instruction and support individual growth
- Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, school events, and extracurricular activities such as school concerts or community outreach programs
- Maintain accurate records of student progress, attendance, and participation while ensuring compliance with educational regulations and policies
Skills
- Strong expertise in curriculum development tailored to diverse student needs, including special education considerations
- Proficiency with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and integrating learning technology into daily instruction
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities and adapting lessons to accommodate various learning styles
- Deep understanding of childhood development principles relevant to music education and overall student well-being
- Excellent classroom management skills combined with the ability to foster a positive learning environment for children from diverse cultural backgrounds
- Skilled in lesson planning, classroom teaching, and behavior management techniques that promote active participation and motivation
- Ability to analyze student performance data to inform instructional strategies and improve learning outcomes
- Knowledge of educational compliance standards, standardized testing procedures, and literacy education best practices
- Effective communication skills for engaging students, parents, colleagues, and community members in meaningful dialogue about student progress
- Experience working in private or Montessori schools is a plus; familiarity with library services or childcare settings is advantageous
