Pastry Chef
Artisana Bread is an artisan bread bakery located on Pinemont Dr in the Garden Oaks/Oak Forest area of Houston, TX. We have an immediate opening for an experienced Executive Pastry Chef to laminate dough and shape croissants, danishes, as well as puff pastries. The candidate must have 5+ years of experience as Pastry Chef in a commercial kitchen environment and specifically with dough lamination and shaping laminated dough. The primary focus for this candidate will be laminating dough and shaping pastries and various related activities and leading a small team.

· Troubleshooting if/as necessary
· Estimate baking needs, inventory control, recordkeeping.
· Practical advanced knowledge and experience laminating dough, formulas, scaling, preparing, shaping croissants, danishes, puff pastries, baking, operating variety of ovens
· Adhering to Artisana formulas
· Menu development as needed
· Able to stand, carry bulky or heavy items, and perform other tasks for long periods of time. This is a very physical job and requires stamina. Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
· Ability to work varied shifts.
· Clean back areas as needed, as well as perform other job-related side work as needed
· Lead a small team, be able to work independently and have a strong work ethic.
· Maintain a professional appearance
· Adhere to state and local health and safety regulations. Must have Food Manager Certificate
Position is available immediately following successful interview (2-day hands on interview process designed to test practical skills) and screening. Pay is commensurate with experience and skills.
