Qualifications: 4-year degree in a biology or science-related field. Must qualify to perform high complexity testing under CLIA (minimum requirement is 24 semester hours of science courses that include 6 hours of chemistry, 6 of biology, and 12 of any combination of chemistry, biology or medical laboratory technology).
Excellent problem-solving and multi-tasking skills are required. Must have excellent telephone, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Duties: Individual hired will work in a busy, fast paced laboratory; working in the Histology Laboratory. Must be detail-oriented and flexible with ability to multi task and work in a team-oriented environment. Primary responsibilities involve the processing of tissue, including cutting, embedding and staining, in preparation for microscopic examination by a pathologist. Demonstrates excellent communication skills to interact with clients, physicians, and coworkers.
Histotechnologist play a crucial role in the laboratory setting, ensuring accurate and timely processing of specimens while maintaining high standards of patient care and safety.
The individual hired will be required to pass their HT/HTL certification within 24 months of completing Histology training.
Morning Shift: 5am-1:30pm; once fully trained rotating Saturday shifts
