Objective

This position will be a project engineering technical lead, technical mentor/peer, and facilities QAQC lead.

A successful candidate will have an extensive background in the engineering, design, construction, and operation of natural gas interconnects, pipelines, processing facilities and extended energy infrastructure.

This candidate will be comfortable working within a multidiscipline engineering team and collaborating with 3rd party consultants to achieve project requirements.

A successful candidate will be able to work independently as well as collectively with project team members and 3rd parties.

This candidate will have a business-minded approach to technical work with the ability and desire to identify, and communicate, business development (BD) opportunities within the energy market.

Roles and Responsibilities
Technical Responsibilities
-
Provide engineering technical leadership, technical mentoring and peer support, and facilities QAQC review within the natural gas and energy infrastructure department.

Coordinate the integration of multidiscipline projects and provide designer review and direction.
-
Maintain project schedules and budgets for multiple simultaneous projects of various complexities.
-
Review and interpret project scope to establish and maintain project design requirements within the schedule a budget. Identify and communicate scope creep.
-
Lead and develop front-end design conceptualization and optimization, generate plot plans, PFD and P&IDs.
-
Understand and present process control philosophies and generate cause and effects / control narratives, etc
-
Generate and maintain project documentation including Design Basis Memorandums (DBMs) and Contractor Scope of Work (CSOW) to track and communicate project progression and convey design intent.

Oversee and develop site layouts and facility mechanical designs to ensure process objectives and code requirements are met.

Review, understand and adhere to industry and client specifications and design requirements. Provide QAQC of internal and subcontractor deliverables for adherence to industry and client
requirements. -
Complete technical and commercial reviews of vendor-provided equipment

Review AutoCAD drawings, 3D piping models, fabrication drawings, and Bill of Materials

Aid project managers in developing schedules and budgets.

Participate in site walkdowns, including as-built mechanical and electrical reviews.

Aid clients with facility commissioning and startup activities.

Ensure robust communication and coordination with business development, project management, procurement, equipment vendors, internal designers, and client project teams.

Provide technical support and insight for Business Development initiatives to develop and promote new client relations.
Business Development (BD)
**The primary role of this position is to perform technical project work as outlined above. All BD and marketing efforts will be in addition to technical project work. BD efforts will be coordinated by the BD team and managed within the framework of a strategic growth initiative, supported by department and corporate services. The Candidate will also support similar efforts by others within the department and company to advance the company’s strategic BD agenda.**
Proposals:

Support the department and marketing team in evaluation of RFPs, writing of proposals, and cost estimates.

Coordinate directly with subconsultants and subcontractors to assemble a project team associated with proposal writing. This may include authoring subcontractor scope documents, contacting vendors, and evaluating submittals.

Provide technical writing, review, and scope for proposals, while reviewing that authored by others, as requested.
Marketing – Programs, Projects, & Conferences

Programs: Lead and support marketing efforts to write program profiles to promote new or modified services such as the expansion of current service offerings. Efforts to include writing content to gain exposure to expanded and new targeted markets.

Projects: Author and review marketing material that highlights current and completed projects to highlight company successes, showcasing capabilities and markets served.

Conferences: Periodically represent Entech at industry events and conferences to promote our capabilities and services offerings. Conference attendance may include hosting/presenting a technical discussion and staffing company vendor booth.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
-
Strong knowledge of relevant industry codes and standards, particularly DOT 192 & 195, ASME B31.8, ASME B31.3/4/8, ASME Sec 8, and API 520 /521.

Strong understanding of fabrication and construction drawing package structure and layout.

Specific engineering experience and leadership in:
o Mechanical piping and equipment design
o Pipe stress and material selection
o Site layout, construction, and operations
o Pipeline hydraulics, testing, and design
o System commissioning and start-up procedures
o Coordination of multidiscipline projects and systems -
Specific areas of technical design and engineering applications to include:
o Natural gas interconnects
o Compression, compressor stations, and auxiliary systems
o Pipelines, pipeline facilities, virtual pipelines
o Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) production and transportation -
Preferred additional experience and knowledge areas include:
o Hydrogen infrastructure, production, transportation, and utilization
o Carbon capture and sequestration
o Alternative energy sources including Solar, Geothermal, and Wind
o Permitting requirements for facility any pipeline applications -
AutoCAD 2D linework experience is required. Knowledge of AutoCAD Civil3D, Plant 3D, and CADWorx experience a plus.

Ability to interpret, review, and generate (via AutoCAD) process flow diagrams (PFDs) and piping & instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs) is required

Ability to interpret and develop piping and fabrication drawing packages utilizing Auto CAD platforms for bidding, construction, and fabrication

Proficiency in Microsoft Office required

Qualifications and Education Requirements

BS in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering

Minimum of 5-10 years of work experience in the Natural Gas Industry and related technical field

Licensed professional engineer (PE)

Preference is given to applicants with design/operations experience in natural gas and liquids processing, pipelines, interconnects, compression, RNG, hydrogen, carbon capture, or similar processes.

Project management and business development experience a plus.

Remote - If this position is filled by a candidate seeking a remote work arrangement, this candidate will be required to:
- The first 3 to 6 months (to be mutually agreed upon), maintain three (3) consecutive in-office days each month, to work directly with department, project, and corporate teams. Days will be subject to change based on project workload and personnel availability.

This position will report directly to the Entech corporate headquarters located in Reading, PA for in-office days.

Planning for in-office days to be coordinated a minimum of 1-month in advance. In office days may be combined with project and/or client meetings to reduce overhead costs and improve client relations.
