Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Dietary Cook to join our compassionate team, supporting the nutritional needs of our residents in a vibrant healthcare environment. Duties
- Prepare and serve meals according to dietary guidelines, ensuring proper portioning and presentation.
- Assist with food production, including cooking, plating, and garnishing dishes in compliance with safety standards.
- Support the dietary department by maintaining sanitation, cleaning kitchen equipment, and adhering to food safety protocols such as JCAHO standards.
- Handle food safely using proper food handling techniques, including manual handling and safe lifting practices for heavy items.
- Assist with meal delivery, bussing tables, and ensuring a clean dining environment for residents.
- Follow workplace safety procedures diligently, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and manual handling techniques.
- Collaborate with nursing staff and other team members to accommodate special dietary needs and preferences of residents.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in assisted living or nursing home dietary services is highly preferred.
- Experience in food production, food handling, or culinary roles within healthcare or food industry settings.
- Knowledge of nutrition principles relevant to geriatric patients and familiarity with dietary requirements.
- Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work safely with heavy lifting, sanitation procedures, and manual handling techniques.
- Excellent customer service skills with a caring attitude toward residents’ needs.
- Certifications such as CPR, Food Safety, or Dietary Aide credentials are advantageous.
- Experience working with geriatric patients or in healthcare environments enhances your suitability for this role.
