SPECIFIC TO BLACK THEATRE FESTIVAL - We are expecting over 2000 people in attendance at ROAR throughout 7/30, 7/31, and 8/1 and bar staff will be needed to work on multiple floors and for multiple events. All staff must be qualified with previous experience and be able to provide one professional reference. Must have open availability on these three days.
Job Overview
Join our vibrant team as an Event Bartender, where you'll be creating memorable experiences through exceptional beverage service at a variety of events. From elegant galas to lively nightclub gatherings and corporate banquets, you’ll bring enthusiasm, professionalism, and a keen eye for detail to every occasion. Your energetic approach will ensure guests feel welcomed and valued while maintaining the highest standards of safety and service. This position is seasonal. Most events are $5 per hour plus tips, while occasionally having an event at $8 per hour plus tips.
Duties
- Prepare and serve a wide range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages with precision, ensuring consistency and quality at all times
- Engage with guests in a friendly, energetic manner, providing excellent customer service that enhances their event experience
- Manage POS transactions using systems such as Toast to ensure accurate billing and payment processing
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area, adhering to food safety standards and proper food handling procedures
- Monitor guest behavior to promote responsible drinking
- Restock bar supplies efficiently during events, managing inventory levels for smooth operation throughout the event duration
- Collaborate with event staff to coordinate timing, setup, and breakdown of bar services at various venues including nightclubs, banquet halls, and catering events
Requirements
- Proven experience in food service or hospitality environments, particularly in fine dining, nightclub, or banquet settings
- Strong knowledge of POS systems such as Toast
- Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently during busy events
- Demonstrated customer service skills with a positive attitude and ability to engage guests professionally
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures required by health regulations
- Ability to serve alcohol responsibly while promoting safe consumption practices
- Basic math skills for accurate cash handling, billing, and inventory management
- Previous experience in catering or large-scale event environments is highly desirable
