We are currently seeking a friendly, professional, and dependable Front Desk Receptionist to join our team at Perimeter Behavioral Hospital of Dallas in Garland, Texas. Our hospital provides specialized behavioral and mental health services for children and adolescents in a supportive, collaborative environment where every team member plays an important role in our patients' experience.

As the Front Desk Receptionist, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients, families, visitors, vendors, and staff. This highly visible role is responsible for creating a welcoming environment while providing exceptional customer service and administrative support to ensure the smooth daily operation of the facility.
You'll also support the Human Resources and Accounts Payable departments through a variety of clerical and administrative duties.
Responsibilities include:

Greet and welcome patients, families, visitors, vendors, and staff with professionalism and compassion.

Answer and route incoming calls using a multi-line phone system in a courteous and timely manner.

Take accurate messages and ensure prompt delivery to the appropriate staff member.

Determine the urgency of calls when clinical staff are unavailable and direct callers appropriately.

Manage visitor check-in procedures, including visitor confidentiality forms and visitor logs.

Notify nursing staff of visitor arrivals and patient returns.

Provide clerical and administrative support to multiple departments throughout the hospital.

Maintain accurate office supply inventory, distribute supplies, and assist with purchasing and inventory tracking.

Assist with filing, scanning, data entry, and other administrative duties for Human Resources and Accounts Payable.

Organize and maintain filing systems and office records.

Operate standard office equipment including copiers, scanners, fax machines, laminators, and other business office equipment.

Promote a safe, welcoming, and professional environment for patients, families, and coworkers.

Protect patient confidentiality and uphold HIPAA and organizational policies.

Perform additional duties as assigned by the Business Office Manager.

High school diploma or equivalent.

Previous receptionist, front desk, administrative assistant, customer service, or healthcare office experience preferred.

Experience operating a multi-line telephone system.

Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.

Minimum typing speed of 35 words per minute.

Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking skills.

Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.

Ability to maintain confidentiality while working in a behavioral healthcare environment.

Previous experience in a hospital, behavioral health, medical office, or healthcare setting.

Experience with inventory management and office supply ordering.

Experience supporting Human Resources or business office operations.
