Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Construction Equipment Repair Technician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy construction machinery and industrial equipment. Your expertise will ensure that equipment operates safely, efficiently, and reliably on job sites. Duties
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on construction machinery such as excavators, cranes, bulldozers, and loaders using OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) schematics and technical manuals.
- Conduct electrical troubleshooting on systems including electrical wiring, sensors, switches, and control modules to identify faults and implement effective repairs.
- Service heavy equipment components such as transmissions, hydraulics, suspensions, brakes, air brakes, HVAC systems, and steering mechanisms to ensure optimal performance.
- Carry out routine maintenance tasks including oil changes, tire service, welding repairs, alignment adjustments, and power tool operation to prevent future breakdowns.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and diagnostic software to assemble parts or repair damaged components efficiently.
- Maintain detailed service records and documentation of repairs performed for compliance and future reference.
- Assist with heavy lifting operations and perform safety inspections to uphold workplace safety standards during all repair activities.
Experience
- Proven experience working as a heavy equipment mechanic or service technician within a dealership or construction environment.
- Strong background in fabrication techniques and the ability to interpret schematics for electrical and mechanical systems.
- Familiarity with construction machinery maintenance including excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors-trailers, and farm machinery.
- Knowledge of diesel engine diagnostics and repair procedures for various industrial engines.
- Hands-on experience with automotive diagnostics related to heavy-duty vehicles and construction equipment.
- Skilled in the use of diagnostic tools for electrical systems troubleshooting as well as mechanical repair processes.
- Previous experience performing equipment troubleshooting across multiple systems such as hydraulics, transmissions, HVAC systems, suspension components, and tire services.
- Ability to operate heavy equipment safely when needed for testing or operational purposes.
- Excellent customer service skills with a focus on clear communication and problem-solving in fast-paced environments.
