Summary:
The Associate Chief Financial Officer (ACFO) supports and directs financial operations and resources at Memorial Regional Hospital South (MRHS) and the Memorial Rehabilitation Institute ensuring alignment with the mission, values, and objectives of Memorial Healthcare System (MHS).
Responsibilities:
Proactively develops, analyzes, and interprets key financial performance indicators in terms of profitability, performance against budget, and trends to recommend corrective action. Administers, develops, and/or implements financial policies, programs, systems and strategies that align with Memorial Healthcare System’s financial strategic plan and direction.Reports to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Memorial Regional Hospital and serves as the principal contact for matters in the CFO’s absence.Serves as an expert on matters related to finance in a wide array of functional areas: reviews, audits, and validates workflows and associated financials; troubleshoots workflow problems and advises on solutions; re-validates workflows. Maintains a thorough understanding of applicable regulations that financially impact the hospital.Maintains knowledge of accounting principles and applies principles to educate department leaders on healthcare financial policies and ensures accuracy of financial reports. Provides leadership and support for financial services’ initiatives and projects; has ownership of project outcomes and ensures deadlines are met while providing guidance and support.Responsible for the completion of the annual budget and tracking hospital and department performance monthly.Builds a productive and focused team to achieve the department's objectives. Ensures staff development aligns with strategic organizational and departmental objectives. Facilitates candidate selection and onboarding, including scheduling training and integration into the team. Evaluates employee performance and supports continuous professional development for employees.Provides proactive leadership for developing the annual budget and financial operational plans supporting the hospital and the health system. Provides oversight, evaluation, and strategically addresses changes affecting financial operations. Ensures hospital departments understand their financial operations and budget compliance.Responsible for the completion of financial reporting on a monthly and annual basis including financial operating and volume trending reports.Collaborates with administrative and service line team of the Memorial Rehabilitation Institute. Serves as the primary liaison for MRHS with the on-site leadership of Patient Financial Services. Works closely with the Corporate Finance team.Collaborates with senior leadership, directors, and managers, and provides financial leadership, direction, analysis, and support to meet or exceed performance expectations. Serves as the key finance leader of the campus for the overall finance function.

Leadership experience required. Other Information: Additional Education Info: Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Master’s degree or CPA preferred, but not required.
