Job Overview
We are looking for an experienced dog bather to assist our groomers with daily bathing/drying. This person will come in at 7:00 am and bathe around 10-12 dogs for the groomers as well as just bath dogs. Baths will include expressing anal glands and cleaning ears. After bathing, you will be expected to trim nails and dry the dogs so that the groomers can then groom them. Once all bathing/drying is finished, you will clean.
Responsibilities
- Safely handle dogs of various sizes and temperaments during bathing, drying, and brushing
- Perform pet grooming tasks including trimming nails, cleaning ears, brushing coats, and other beautification services
- Restrain animals gently yet securely to ensure safety during bathing/drying
- Maintain cleanliness of grooming stations, tools, and bathing areas to uphold hygiene standards
- Monitor dogs for signs of discomfort or health issues and communicate concerns to groomers
- Clean tubs, floors, cages, bathrooms, etc.
Experience
- Prior experience in dog handling, pet bathing, or animal care is highly preferred
- Experience working with animals in veterinary clinics or kennels enhances your ability to handle pets effectively
- Must be capable of lifting up to 40 lb
- Strong customer service skills are essential for engaging positively with team members
Pay: $13.00 - $15.00 per hour
