Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostics on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, air brakes, suspension, and electrical systems using schematics and diagnostic tools
- Conduct routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire service, brake repairs, shocks & struts replacement, and vehicle inspections
- Repair and fabricate components for heavy equipment.
- Use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and soldering techniques to assemble parts or repair damaged components
- Conduct heavy equipment operation tasks safely when required for testing or troubleshooting purposes
- Maintain detailed service records of repairs performed on vehicles and machinery to ensure compliance with safety standards
- Assist in equipment maintenance programs to maximize operational uptime and safety standards
Skills
- Proven extensive mechanic experience working with heavy trucks and industrial equipment
- Strong mechanical knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, HVAC systems, and vehicle electrical systems
- Skilled in reading schematics and technical manuals for complex machinery repairs
- Proficient with automotive diagnostics tools and troubleshooting procedures for vehicle systems
- Experience with fabrication techniques including welding and metalwork for custom repairs or modifications
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while working on large vehicles or machinery components
- Excellent customer service skills when interacting with clients or team members regarding repairs or maintenance needs
