Butler Rescue Hands, Inc. is currently seeking experienced Direct Support Professionals (DSPs), PCA staff, and Behavioral Support Staff to provide community and in-home support services for an adult individual receiving DDS services in the Shelton, CT area.
This position requires experienced, reliable, and professional staff who are comfortable working within a structured environment and supporting individuals with behavioral and developmental support needs.
Schedule Available:
- Afternoon, evening, and weekend shifts available
- Community-based outings and in-home supports
- Consistent scheduling preferred
Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 and/or 2:1 support services
- Support community integration and structured recreational activities
- Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs)
- Follow behavioral support plans and agency procedures
- Maintain professional boundaries and communication at all times
- Support transportation and community outings alongside additional staff
- Complete required documentation accurately and timely
- Work collaboratively with family members, supervisors, and support team
Requirements:
- Minimum 1 year DDS, Autism, or behavioral support experience preferred
- Active CPR certification REQUIRED
- PMT, SafetyCare, Mandt, CPI, or behavioral intervention training strongly preferred
- Experience supporting individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder and behavioral needs REQUIRED
- Clean criminal background
- Clean driving record
- Reliable transportation
- Ability to remain calm and professional during behavioral escalations
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to follow structured routines and directions consistently
- Must be dependable and punctual
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with community-based supports
- Experience with non-verbal or limited verbal communication
- Experience working with behavioral plans and de-escalation strategies
- DSP, PCA, HHA, or related human services background
