We are seeking a dependable, detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Forensic Building Technician. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys field work, problem-solving, and investigating how and why building defects occur.
You will travel throughout Texas assessing residential structures for construction defects, documenting your findings with photographs and detailed notes, and collecting information that may be used in a legal manner.
This is a physically demanding field position. Candidates should be comfortable working outdoors in Texas heat, climbing ladders, walking roofs when appropriate, and spending long days traveling between inspection sites.
Responsibilities:
- Travel throughout Texas to perform residential building assessments.
- Identify and document visible construction defects and signs of moisture intrusion.
- Take high-quality photographs and maintain detailed field documentation.
- Follow established inspection procedures and accurately record findings.
- Communicate professionally with homeowners and clients while on-site.
- Maintain inspection equipment and company standards.
Requirements:
- Reliable personal transportation (fuel expenses reimbursed).
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
- Ability to travel frequently throughout Texas, including occasional overnight travel.
- Ability to safely climb ladders, walk uneven terrain, and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Professional appearance and communication skills.
- Construction, roofing, restoration, military, engineering, or inspection experience is preferred but not required. We are willing to train the right candidate.
