Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Medication Aide to join our team in providing exceptional care to our residents. The ideal candidate will have experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or hospitals, and will be skilled in medication administration and patient care. This role is crucial in ensuring the safety and well-being of individuals with various needs, including those with developmental disabilities, Alzheimer’s, dementia, and other memory care requirements.
Responsibilities
- Administer medications to residents according to prescribed schedules and protocols.
- Monitor and document patients' vital signs and overall health status.
- Assist with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop individualized care plans.
- Provide support for residents with tube feeding and catheter care as needed.
- Engage with residents to promote social interaction and emotional well-being.
- Ensure a safe and clean environment for all residents by adhering to infection control protocols.
- Utilize EMR/EHR systems for efficient medical documentation and communication.
Skills
- Proven experience in assisted living, nursing home, or hospital settings.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and vital signs.
- Proficiency in medication administration practices and medical documentation.
- Familiarity with EMR systems such as Epic or Cerner is preferred.
- Strong understanding of caregiving principles related to senior care, hospice care, dementia care, and memory care.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with residents, families, and healthcare teams.
- Ability to work compassionately with individuals who have disabilities or special needs.
