Evaluate residents’ functional abilities and develop individualized treatment plans.
Provide direct physical therapy treatments to improve strength, mobility, balance, endurance, and coordination.
Utilize a variety of therapeutic techniques, exercises, and equipment to promote functional independence.
Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure continuity of care and effective treatment outcomes.
Supervise and direct Physical Therapy Assistants (PTAs) and therapy aides in carrying out treatment plans.
Monitor and document residents’ progress, adjusting treatment plans as needed.
Educate residents, families, and caregivers on therapy techniques, equipment use, and strategies for continued progress.
Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and facility regulations and professional standards.
Participate in discharge planning by providing recommendations for ongoing therapy or equipment needs.
