Executive Housekeeper - Manhattan
Overview
A private family on the UWS in Manhattan is seeking an experienced, solutions-oriented, and hands-on Executive Housekeeper to serve as the operational backbone of their 10k-square-foot residence. This is a unique opportunity to grow with a young family. This dual-function role is for someone equally comfortable directing vendors and projects as they are handling laundry, detailed cleaning, and organization. The right candidate brings professionalism, discretion, and the ability to anticipate needs in this busy, high-standard household.
The Household
The principals have two young children and 1 dog. Current staff includes a chef, nanny, executive assistant, and a housekeeper whom this role will directly supervise. This leadership position requires a team-oriented approach as you will be working alongside household and building staff as well as outside service providers regularly. With your calm demeanor, you will lead by example and foster a positive, collaborative household environment.
Schedule
- 4 weekdays and 1 weekend day, 40 hours per week, 9:30 AM to 5:30 PM. Occasional evenings and weekends.
- Schedule flexibility is important to accommodate the principal's schedule, entertaining, travel, and household needs.
Compensation
- $125,000/yearly, flexibility depending on experience

Primary Responsibilities
Household Operations
- Maintain a clean, organized, and guest-ready residence daily
- Perform and oversee all aspects of housekeeping, laundry(wardrobe and fine fabric care), pressing, and detailed care of fine furnishings, art, and surfaces
- Supervise and support the housekeeper, setting and meeting cleaning standards
- Manage grocery shopping as well as inventory management for household supplies
- Along with the housekeeper, provide pet care including daily walks, feeding, and managing vet appointments
- Run household errands
Project Management
- Serve as the primary on-site liaison for renovation projects
- Coordinate with contractors and vendors; manage scheduling, access, and follow- through on the work
- Communicate project status to the principals and executive assistant, and flag issues proactively
Vendor & Facilities Management
- Source, vet, schedule, and oversee household vendors, including preventive maintenance, repairs, and deliveries
- Manage routine and as-needed repairs; follow through to resolution
- Maintain organized records for warranties, service contacts, and household inventory
Coordination & Communication
- Work closely with the executive assistant to stay aligned on the principals' schedule, travel, household needs, and car registrations
- Anticipate what the home and family will require before being asked. Independently develop solutions.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience as an executive housekeeper and/or house manager in a private household with at least 10 years of private service experience overall
- Luxury apartment and/or condo experience required, including demonstrated experience managing household projects and vendors.
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills
- Hands-on, willing to roll up your sleeves to do what is required to get the job done
- A calm, positive demeanor with the ability to adapt as household priorities evolve
- Able to work seamlessly with professionals from various backgrounds and with diverse skillsets
- Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to details
- Discreet and trustworthy with high standards of confidentiality
- NYC-based or able to easily commute to Manhattan
- Legally authorized to work in the United States
Pay: From $125,000.00 per year
