Job Overview
The Social Media and Communications Coordinator is responsible for managing and enhancing the organization’s online presence, creating engaging content, and supporting communication strategies to align with the organization’s goals. This role combines creativity, analytical skills, and knowledge of social media trends to effectively communicate with target audiences and build brand awareness.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
1) Social Media Management:
- Build and execute social media strategy through competitive research and benchmarking.
- Publish and share daily content (original text, images, and video) that builds meaningful connections and encourages members to take action.
- Update and optimize pages within each platform to increase visibility.
- Stay current with social media trends and best practices.
- Research opportunities for new social marketing platforms and adapt the current process to fit MLS Now’s needs.
- Moderate all user-generated content in line with MLS’s social media policy for each platform.
- Edit and post-produce regular videos and podcast content.
- Compile, design, and execute bi-weekly newsletters, email blasts, mass texting and other digital outlets as they apply.
2) Content Creation:
- Write, edit, and design compelling content for social media, websites, blogs, newsletters, and press releases.
- Collaborate with design and marketing teams to produce graphics, videos, and other multimedia content.
- Stay updated on trends, tools, and techniques to keep content fresh and relevant.
3) Brand Management.
- Maintain consistent brand voice, tone, and visual identity across all communications.
- Ensure content aligns with organizational goals and resonates with target audiences.
- Monitor online reputation and report on public sentiment.
4) Campaign Development.
- Plan and execute campaigns to promote services, events, or initiatives.
- Manage budgets for paid social media advertisements and track ROI.
- Partner with influencers or organizations to amplify reach.
5) Cross-Functional Collaboration.
- Work closely with all MLS Now departments to ensure cohesive messaging.
- Support the development and execution of broader communication strategies.
- Coordinate with external vendors and freelancers, as needed.
6) Monitoring and Reporting.
- Track and analyze data using tools like Google Analytics, Meta Business Suite, or Hootsuite.
- Provide insights into audience engagement and make data-driven recommendations.
- Stay informed about industry trends, algorithm changes, and platform updates.
7) Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Proven experience managing social media platforms and digital communications.
- Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills.
- Strong Project Management, organizational and communication skills
- Good technical understanding and ability to learn new hardware and software quickly.
- Proficiency in social media management tools (e.g., Buffer, Sprout Social) and graphic design software (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite).
- Familiarity with SEO, PPC, and email marketing is a plus.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret metrics and provide actionable insights.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field. In addition, there is a minimum of 5 years of computer experience and customer support. Computer knowledge to include Microsoft Outlook and Office programs. Preferred 2 years supervisory / management experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only
limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Pay: $60,000.00 - $67,000.00 per year
