Summary:
The Forklift Driver is responsible for the safe movement, handling and storage of Materials/Products. This role operates industrial power trucks to load and unload materials and deliveries, following established procedures and upholding SBD’s values and standards.
Schedule: Monday-Thursday (10pm-6am)
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following but not limited to.
- Safely operate forklift and other material handling equipment.
- Load and unload freight, inspect shipments, and verify product counts against paperwork. Report and document any shortages or damages.
- Transport materials, components, and finished goods between production areas and warehouse storage.
- Unpack and examine incoming shipments, rejecting and documenting damaged items.
- Use warehouse management systems for receiving, manifesting, warehousing, repacking, work order completion, shipping, inquiries, and report generation.
- Prepare bills of lading and maintain accurate shipping documentation.
- Participate in monthly physical inventories, performing accurate scanning and verification of assigned areas or racks.
- Review and process warehouse transfers, scan materials to designated locations, and verify inventory accuracy in the system.
- Coordinate the movement and disposal of scrap units according to company policy.
- Ensure timely processing of freight carriers and their shipments.
- Comply with all safety procedures and rules related to forklift operation, maintaining current certification.
- Complete the forklift verification checklist before each use.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area daily.
- Promote and maintain a healthy and safe work environment for yourself and coworkers.
- Perform all tasks in accordance with SBD procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned to meet business needs.
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma/GED required.
- Minimum 1-year of experience in a Warehouse or similar environment.
- Previous experience operating a forklift or similar Powered Industrial Truck required.
- Valid forklift operator certification (OSHA or equivalent) required, or ability to obtain upon hire.
- Demonstrate basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook; SAP experience preferred
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong problem solving and decision-making skills.
- Schedule flexibility, including availability for overtime during peak periods or month end closing.
Pay: $13.50 per hour
