Overview~
We are a small non corporate single doctor private practice looking to replace our hygienist who is leaving for dental school.
- pay range is based on experience, anesthetic certificate, ability to work independently, make lasting connections with patients, ability to problem solve and has a clear knowledge of periodontal disease.
~1 hour Prophylaxis
~1 hour Periodontal Maintenance
~1 1/2 hours for 2 full quads SRP, 1 hour for selective scale
~Must be able to maintain and sterilize dental instruments
~ Develop a relationship with our patients.
Leadership skills Education:
* Valid Florida Dental Hygienist license
* CPR Certification
Responsibilities
- Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing, to promote optimal oral health.
- Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and dental charts to inform treatment plans.
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, dietary advice, and preventive care strategies.
- Assist with chairside procedures such as applying fluoride treatments, sealants, and other preventive interventions.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations and clinic policies.
- Support infection control protocols by adhering to aseptic techniques and sterilization procedures.
- Utilize dental software systems like Eaglesoft for scheduling, record-keeping, and billing purposes.
- Collaborate with dentists and other team members to ensure seamless patient care delivery across general dentistry and pediatric dentistry services.
- Monitor and record vital signs and medical imaging as needed to ensure patient safety during procedures.
- Stay current with advancements in dental terminology, medical coding, and documentation review practices to enhance service quality.
Skills
- Proficiency in using EMR (Electronic Medical Records)
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control standards, and aseptic techniques.
- Experience working with pediatric patients and in pediatric dentistry environments is highly desirable.
- Ability to perform chairside assisting with competence in four-handed dentistry techniques.
- Excellent patient care skills with a compassionate approach tailored to diverse patient populations.
- Familiarity with medical records management, HIPAA compliance, and medical coding practices.
- Knowledge of general dentistry procedures along with specialized skills in pediatric dentistry is preferred.
- Effective communication skills for explaining treatment plans clearly and empathetically to patients of all ages.
- Ability to review documentation thoroughly for accuracy and completeness while maintaining confidentiality standards.
